Route 113 remains closed from Access Rd to Oak Bluff Ave due to CTDOT Emergency Repairs.
The Airport remains open for operations.
CTDOT UPDATE:
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) began repair work on the Route 113 (Burma Road) sinkhole on Wednesday, July 23. A 150-ft crane has been brought in to support the bypass operation and stabilize the area for repairs.
This week, the Contractor is installing the temporary sheeting for the bypass pipe for water handling. This work will continue throughout the weekend. Next week, the Contractor will start the excavation and installation of the bypass pipe.
The target completion date is late September 2025, according to CTDOT. While this is a State-owned road, I, along with our Director of Public Safety and our State delegation, have been in constant communication with CTDOT to emphasize the urgent need for a safe and efficient repair.
