Our mission is to mobilize youth and community partners to reduce youth substance abuse and to create a safe, healthy and drug-free environment where youth and families thrive.

Since 1977, the Town of Stratford Partnership for Youth and Families (Formerly known as the Youth and Family Advisory Board, YAFAB) has worked in cooperation with Stratford Community Services, the local Youth Service Bureau, to develop a coordinated network of services for young people and families. The Coalition's purpose:

  • Inform the Mayor about matters, policies, and programs that impact youth and families.

  • Serve as the Drug Free Communities Coalition, Local Prevention Council, and the Youth Service Bureau Advisory Board. This ensures coordinated and collaborative efforts among similarly functioning organizations.

  • Strengthen collaboration among youth, parents, and organizations that create community conditions to reduce and prevent high risk behavior and promote well-being among Stratford youth.

  • Promote Search Institute 40 Developmental Assets, a framework of qualities, experiences and relationships youth need to succeed.
