Mayor Chess Snow and Blizzard Emergency

On Monday, February 23rd, Mayor Chess declared a Snow and Blizzard Emergency in Stratford based on the conditions, and shared the following reminders and updates with residents regarding the storm.

✅ Be patient: We ask that you please be patient as our Department of Public Works (DPW) continues to work hard to clear over 800 public roads. This will take time. DPW will be plowing all day today, Tuesday, Feb. 24, due to the heavy snowfall.

✅ Parking Ban: As a reminder, the Town's Parking Ban went into effect on Sunday, February 22, at 8:00 AM, asking all residents to park on the even-numbered side of the street. The Parking Ban will remain in effect until further notice, and we will make an announcement once it's been lifted. Our Police Department has been ticketing those who are not in compliance.

✅ Please don't throw snow into the streets: Snow may NOT be deposited into the roadway while shoveling or plowing. Placing snow in the street creates hazardous conditions for motorists and emergency vehicles and may also result in fines. Please do your part to keep our sidewalks and roadways safe and accessible for everyone. Thank you!
