"On Thursday, July 3rd, a significant weather event brought down a number of trees, limbs, branches, and debris across Stratford. Immediately after the strongest part of the storm passed, our Stratford Fire and Police Departments began assessing damage and securing hazardous areas and roads.
Our Department of Public Works (DPW) responded quickly, dispatching crews to remove downed trees and clear blocked roads. DPW worked in close coordination with our Public Safety Director and Dispatch Center, continuing cleanup efforts throughout the night. The work continues this week, including tree removals, large limb takedowns, and widespread debris collection.
We thank our residents and local businesses for your patience and cooperation. Cleanup will continue over the next few weeks. If your property has brush, fallen branches, or other storm debris, please place it curbside —Public Works will collect it as part of their Town-wide sweep.
A heartfelt thank you to our Public Works and Public Safety teams for their rapid and coordinated response. And thank you to everyone in Stratford for looking out for one another and showing what community is all about." - Mayor Laura R. Hoydick
