Annual Great Pumpkin Festival
Saturday, October 19th, 2019

The Boothe Park Commission and the Town of Stratford are hosting the annual Great Pumpkin Festival on Saturday, October 20th, featuring the Great Pumpkin Carving contest! Watch as carvers sculpt 100 lb. pumpkins into works of art for cash prizes.

The festival will be held from 1:00 - 5:00 pm and is a wonderful family-oriented event. Events will include a children's costume parade (3:00 sharp) with prizes, DJ music, games, crafts, face painting, refreshments, pie baking contest, scarecrow judging contest, 4 Moonbounces, horse-drawn hayrides, roaming railroad, and the opening of the various historic buildings at the park, including tours of the Model Train Museum and Observatory.

Pumpkin Carving Contest
by sending an email to: dcaserta@townofstratford.com.

  • Type Name, Address and phone number in the body of the e-mail.
     The first 30 applicants will be accepted as contestants.
     Contestants must be 18 years of age or older.
     Send your applications early! Walk-up contestants based on availability of remaining pumpkins.
     Carvers may supply any battery operated lights for their display.
     Electricity is NOT available at carving sites.
     Carvers must supply their own carving utensils for their own use.
     All contestants should arrive to the park by 9:00 a.m. Pumpkins are given out on a first come basis.
     Judging will start around 12:30 p.m.
     All pumpkins must remain on display until end of festival at 5:00 p.m. Pumpkins may be taken home by the carver after 5PM
     Winners will be announced by 2:00p.m.

5th Annual Pie Baking Contest
REGISTER ONLINE by sending an email to: dcaserta@townofstratford.com.

  • Type your name, age, category (adult or youth), address, phone number, type of pie(s)
     Pies only – no tarts, crisps or cobblers. No pies that need refrigeration. No store bought pastry shells or store bought fillings. Pie must be submitted in a disposable pie tin.
     Bring pie(s) to dining hall at Boothe Park between 11am-12 Noon
     Categories: Adult (19 and over), Youth (18 and under)
    o Fruit, nut, other. One entry per person per category
     All entries must be submitted by midnight Oct. 19th
    Judging based on TASTE, CRUST, APPEARANCE AND CREATIVITY. Prizes awarded to 1st and 2nd place winners.

    4th Annual Scarecrow Contest
    REGISTER ONLINE by sending an email to: dcaserta@townofstratford.com.

    • Type your name, age, phone number in e-mail.
       Make a scarecrow and bring it to the park between 11am-1pm
       Scarecrow must be free standing
       Scarecrow must be family appropriate (no political statements, morality issues, etc.)
