The Civil War Day at Boothe Memorial Park, September 29th, will be an educational experience for the whole family.  Encampments will be in place the entire day and the staging of battle re-enactments will occur, periodically, throughout the day.

Stratford’s 2018 Civil War Day is sponsored by AMEC Construction.
Friends of Boothe Memorial Park will host the annual Civil War Day, an authentic Civil War reenactment and encampment, on Saturday, September 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Boothe Memorial Park, Stratford. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

Sure to appeal to both Civil War aficionados and people of all ages, Civil War Day is part of the Celebrate Stratford series of events. Members of Company F, 14th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry, dressed in their full Civil War regalia, will provide visitors a glimpse of everyday life of a Civil War soldier. Soldiers will partake in drills, firing demonstrations, a 19th Century baseball game, and other period activities. Artifacts on display will include soldiers’ personal equipment, an officer’s tent, Civil War medicine and a firearms exhibit.
