NOTICE of FOURTEENTH DAY BEFORE PRIMARY

On Tuesday August 9, 2016 the Town of Stratford will be conducting a Democratic Primary for the 23rd State Senatorial seat. Be advised that per State Statute, on Tuesday July 26, 2016, the Registrar of Voters Office in the Town of Stratford, 2725 Main Street, will extend its hours to 7pm for the purpose of electors to add or remove their names to the registry list.

Please keep in mind the following:
  1. On Tuesday August 9, 2016 the Town of Stratford will be conducting a DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY for the 23rd State Senate seat. The Primary is open to all DEMOCRATS in the 23rd Senatorial District. For those in that district SHS, Franklin, and Johnson polling locations will be open. As always polls will be open from 6am to 8pm. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office at 203-385-4049.
  2. IF you are 17 years of age, and will be 18 on or before Election Day, you are eligible to register and vote.
  3. When switching from one major party to another, there is a 3 month waiting period to gain new party privilege. The cutoff date to switch party’s AND participate in your new party’s Presidential primary is MONDAY JANUARY 25, 2016.
  4. To change party affiliation you must fill out a new voter registration card indicating you wish to do so, and what you wish your new party to be. This can be done in person at the Registrar of Voters Office OR on line at the town’s website….www.townofstratford.com.
  5. The General Election will be held on TUESDAY November 8, 2016. As always polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
