The Recreation Department has moved to Birdseye Municipal Complex at 468 Birdseye Street. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm and starting April 26 from 8:00 am-2:00 pm.
Playground Carnival Wednesday July 23 at Boothe Park 10-2:30 pm. UCONN great, Nykesha Sales, guest, from 11-1 pm. Rides, games and fun. $1 entrance, $10 wristband. Proceeds benefit the Bridgeport Hospital Burn Unit.
Next Day Swim Lesson Registration starts on Thursday July 24 at 6:00 pm. Office registration will begin Thursday July 24 from 6-7 pm. Registration will end Saturday July 26 at noon.
Next Concert on Paradise Green is Tuesday July 22 at 7:00 pm featuring the Paul King Big Band Orchestra
The mission of the Recreation Department is to provide quality, affordable recreational services to enable the entire community to utilize their leisure time, and to enhance the quality of life. We provide individuals with facilities and programs through which they have an opportunity for social interaction, to improve their physical conditioning, to develop new skills, and to enjoy safe, wholesome, and satisfying activities. We also establish cooperation with community and area agencies to complement, or supplement their services.
The Department reserves the picnic pavilions at Short Beach and Boothe Park as well as the Boothe Park Dining Hall.
Recreation Department offices are closed Monday January 20, Wednesday February 12, Monday February 17, Friday April 18, Monday May 26, Friday July 4 and Monday September 1.
The Stratford Recreation Department staff is certified in CPR and first aid.
All Recreation Department programs are open to everyone in Town. Any individuals with a disability who need special assistance to participate in the programs should contact the Recreation Office.
