1. Where can I go for flu and pneumonia shots?
Our Public Health Nursing Division conducts several public flu/pneumonia shot clinics in October and November.
2. Do I need a food permit to serve food at a banquet, reunion, fair or other event?
It will depend upon the event and who will be serving the food. You should always check with the food section of the Health Department by calling 203-385-4090 or visiting our office to find out if your event will require one.
3. Who can I talk to with my specific health problem?
You may call our Public Health Nursing office at 203-385-4058 and speak with a Registered Nurse, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.
4. When making a complaint do I have to leave my name?
No, it is not required. However, if you leave your name and address we can follow-up with you if our investigative staff needs more information.
5. Do you keep a copy of my septic system on file?
We have information on most septic systems in Town. You may access this information by visiting our offices located at 468 Birdseye Street. For more information call our offices at 203-385-4090.
6. Do you provide childhood immunizations?
Yes. You can contact our Public Health Nursing Division at 203-385-4058, Monday thru Friday 8:30 am and 4:30 pm to find out about clinic hours.
7. Can I bring in a tick to be tested for Lyme Disease?
Yes. There is a simple form to complete when you bring in your tick and we will send it to the State Agriculture Experiment Lab for testing. You will be notified with results within two weeks.
8. Do you provide dental care services?
The Stratford Health Department has a school-based dental clinic for all Stratford children ages 4-18. Call our office at 203-385-4058 for more information. For low cost adult dental care services call the Stratford Community Health Center at 203-375-7242 to make an appointment.
9. Can I get information about the Raymark Cleanup from the Health Department?
Yes, you can access public information regarding the raymark project by calling our offices at 203-385-4090 .
10. Does the Health Department provide services in the schools?
Yes, the Stratford Health Department has a school based health clinic at Wooster Middle School.
11. Where can I get information about health insurance for my family?
The State of Connecticut HUSKY program offers two plans that many families can use to for children under age 19. For more info, log on to http://www.huskyhealth.com
12. Do you offer STD and HIV testing services?
The Stratford Health Department does not offer STD/HIV testing services. Click on testing sites for a list or call 203-385-4058.
13. Do you offer travel vaccines?

14. What is the beach closure policy?
