The Office of Economic Development welcomes you to our monthly update on economic activity in the Town of Stratford.
- Commercial, industrial, retail and office building permits for the month of May totaled $973,575 bringing the total of permits for the five-month period to a total of $5,546,386.

- July 2: U.S. Army Jazz Band will be performing at Booth Park
- July 3: Fireworks and activities at Short Beach
- August 5 –8: ASA Women’s Major Fast Pitch Softball Tournament at Deluca Field
- August 12 - 15: Summer Shakespeare Festival on theater grounds
- August 21: “Blues on the Beach” at Short Beach
- August 30: Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament at Mill River Country Club
- September 24 –26: Stratford Birding Festival
- ShopRite opened to the general public on May 26 to a throng of shoppers.
- Dao Fusion Cuisine & Lounge held their official grand opening on Thursday June 3. The Asian fusion restaurant is located at 7365 Main Street in the Oronoque Shopping Plaza opposite Sikorsky Aircraft.
- Rich’s Corner Deli will hold their grand opening on June 24 at noon with Mayor John Harkins cutting the ribbon. The deli is located at the corner of North and Nichols Avenue.
- The Greater Fairfield County Consolidated Listing Service reported that through June 7, 35 single-family homes sold during the month of May at an average selling price of $266,229 and were on the market an average of 108 days.
