The Office of Economic Development welcomes you to our monthly update on economic activity in the Town of Stratford.
· Commercial, industrial, retail and office permits for the month of March totaled $3,283,000. The total for the first quarter of 2009 reached $3,569,200.
· The Office of Economic Development represented the Town of Stratford at a Table‑Top Expo in Norwalk to showcase the assets of the Town.
· The United Athletic Centers of Fairfield have announced new facility openings. The Fairfield based firm will open a Stratford location in a 40,000 square foot indoor facility in July at a Honeyspot Road Extension site. United Athletic Centers are facilities, which cater to diverse groups of people with interests in multi-sport activities and assortment of events. Activities include: soccer, field hockey, flag football, lacrosse and inline hockey.
· The first quarter of 2009 the residential market echoed the national trend with 64 single-family homes sold with an average selling price of $248,471 and were on the market for 110 days. For the month of March the Greater Fairfield County Consolidated Listing Service reported 24 single-family homes had an average selling price of $241,183 and were on the market an average of 93 days. *
