PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, the before school program at the YMCA contributes to strengthening the Stratford community by focusing on the four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility; and

WHEREAS, caring is necessary to learn lessons of compassion for other people; and

WHEREAS, honesty is necessary to instill trustworthiness not only in ourselves but in others; and

WHEREAS, respect is necessary as it provides us with self confidence and a sense of recognition; and 

WHEREAS, responsibility is necessary to demonstrate the ability to fulfill our own dreams and goals; and

WHEREAS, all students have gone above and beyond the call of duty to strive toward obtaining a greater understanding of these core values; and

WHEREAS, all students and staff of this program should be commended and recognized for their achievements in becoming role models in their schools and the Stratford community;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor, do hereby congratulate all of those who are involved in the before school program at the YMCA and encourage all students and teachers to continue to honor and teach the four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility
