PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, The month of June is officially known as National Rose Month; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Stratford’s waterfront is an important and natural resource for the rose as it is situated on the Long Island Sound and the Housatonic River, and
WHEREAS, Boothe Memorial Park’s rose garden is a perfect setting for the beauty and elegance that surrounds and embraces the rose to it’s fullest potential; and
WHEREAS, As a result of hard work and dedication of Boothe Memorial Park Commissioner Joan Brazzell, and the entire Boothe Park commission members, we can walk through the rose garden to enjoy the simple pleasures and beauty of the rose; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor, do hereby invite all neighbors of the Stratford community to join me in celebrating National Rose Month by taking the time this month to stop and smell the roses at the rose garden at Boothe Memorial Park.
