PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Atria Stratford is an assisted living community that has served thousands of Stratford area seniors and their families since it opened 10 years ago, on March 15, 1999; and

WHEREAS, as an assisted living community, Atria Stratford has a special combination of housing, personalized support services and health care designed to meet the individual needs of those seniors who require help with activities of daily living, but do not need the 24-hour skilled medical care of a nursing home; and

WHEREAS, residents of Atria Stratford have their own private apartment and are provided with services that include prepared meals, housekeeping, transportation, social and cultural activities and assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, medication management and emergencies; and

WHEREAS, Atria Stratford offers Life Guidance, a special care neighborhood for those with Alzheimer’s and other memory impairments; and

WHEREAS, Atria Stratford employs approximately 100 people dedicated to enhancing lives and exceeding expectations every day; and

WHEREAS, Atria Stratford was recognized for Quality Service by its parent company, Atria Senior Living Group, headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky; and

WHEREAS, Atria Stratford was recognized for Best Practices for Resident Care by the Connecticut Assisted Living Association.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor of the Town of Stratford, do hereby proclaim, Thursday, May 14, 2009 as

ATRIA STRATFORD DAY

In the Town of Stratford and do hereby invite all residents of the Town to join me in congratulating Atria Stratford for their 10 years of service oriented work, as well as thanking their staff and supporters who work hard to enhance the well-being of the members of the Atria Stratford Community.
