PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Congregation Rodeph Sholom is celebrating 100 years of service to the Greater Bridgeport community with a Gala Concert of Jewish music, to be held on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at 3PM; and
WHEREAS, Congregation Rodeph Sholom offers various high quality programs and services to its congregants with the help of its full time Rabbi David A. Cantor, Rabbi Emeritus Israel C. Stein, Cantor Jason H. Green, and devoted directors; and
WHEREAS, Congregation Rodeph Sholom takes an active role in the community through social action, charity, volunteerism, and outreach, even beyond the Jewish community; and
WHEREAS, Congregation Rodeph Sholom 100th anniversary motto is “Celebrating the Past, Building the Future”. This motto is apparent through the operation of being a full-service, egalitarian, Conservative synagogue that has over 500 member families, and is affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor, do hereby invite all members of the community to join me in congratulating Congregation Rodeph Sholom on celebrating its 100th anniversary with every best wish for continued success.
