PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Deputy Chief Michael A. Hostetter, a life-long Stratford resident, has announced his retirement after thirty-six years of service to the Town of Stratford’s Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, Deputy Chief Michael A. Hostetter joined the Town of Stratford Fire Department in May of 1973, rising through the ranks to become Lieutenant in June of 1985, Assistant Chief in January of 1993 and Deputy Fire Chief in January of 2007; and
WHEREAS, Deputy Chief Michael A. Hostetter has been an instrumental part of the Stratford Fire Department. From early in his career, he established himself as an outstanding firefighter. He was known for his strict adherence to rules and regulations and his attention to detail with regard to reports and other facets of the job; and
WHEREAS, As Deputy Chief, Michael A. Hostetter has been responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Fire Department, budgetary functions and operations, and updating the Department’s policies and standard operating procedures; and
WHEREAS, Michael A. Hostetter has attended various seminars and trainings to keep current with the changes in the area of fire safety in order to provide the best service possible to Stratford residents. As a result of those trainings, he is also a certified Fire Service Instructor and a certified Medical Response Technician; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor, do hereby invite all members of the community to join me in thanking Michael A. Hostetter for his exemplary service to the Stratford community and in wishing him much happiness and health throughout his retirement.
