07-16-07 The 2007 Farmer's Market kicked-off on Monday, July 16 to the sound of Jazz performed by Wayne Heller. The Bridgeport Blue Fish, magic shows, fun family events, health screenings and information provided by several community agencies were also part of 'Opening Day.' The Farmer's Market will run every Monday until October 29 from 1pm until 6pm, rain or shine. As in previous years, the market will feature seasonal Connecticut-grown produce and other items from area farmers. The market will be held at Deluca Field's overflow parking lot in the South End of Stratford. Senior coupons and WIC coupons are accepted. The Stratford Farmer's Market has offered a wide variety of seasonal, Connecticut-grown produce since 2002. For more information about obtaining senior coupons, contact the Salvation Army at 203.367.0605. WIC coupons should be obtained for the month of July at the WIC office at 752 East Main Street, Bridgeport or by calling 203.576.8072. For more information about the Stratford Farmer's Market, please contact the Stratford Health Department at 203.385.4090.
